Their perfect world... by Somatic-Retro Their perfect world... by Somatic-Retro
So I live in suburbia. For those of you unfamiliar with the term it can be defined as, "the place where they cut down trees and name streets after them".

So after a lot of sitting around wishing how much i wish i lived somewhere much more photogenic like turkey or hungary i realized how many opportunities I had where I live. Sure its not art that everyone will like. And that it can even be frustrating looking at it. But i think the giant ominous clouds really give a great representation of what more goes on the in the perfectly symmetrical houses...

I find the saturation on the other cloud images a bit much, but it works here. The curve of the line comes out beautifully, sort of as if the houses were being pushed out by the clouds(and also the trees) and were about to burst out of order and symmetry, as you say.

On the one hand I think you could crop out a bit from the left, to make the line equal from the two sides, but that would probably make the whole thing look a bit too composed and detract from the "bursting" effect.

Looking at the thumbnail, I felt it would be a rather cheerful image, but it is quite eerie, once you open it up.

(also there is a thing in the left corner (a car?) that looks like some sort of monster out hunting)\

(I'll shut up and fave it now)

thanks for the critique. I appreciate it a lot. About the bottom left corner its a pile of grass and dirt. It's quite a flaw in the perfect lawns if you ask me.

The biggest wish that I had about this picture is I wish i had a fisheye lens for it.

I love Turkey. I hope to visit it again someday.

This is a beautiful photograph though. The clouds are stunning, and the small, lined up houses reminds me of how insignificant and rather inferior human made items are in comparison to nature.
